The upper portions of Middle and West Leonard were just as I had imagined them with no people, plenty of wildlife and a great place to find water and cool down.
Some of the open meadows with deep pools of water and gentle grassy flats looked identical to those neighboring nearby canyons/creeks Gentry, Turkey, Beaver, etc...
Although I did run into quite a bit of deadfall in both canyons that got to a 6 out of 10 on the annoying scale but it didn’t last too long and the scenery on other side was worth it.
There are some really nice sections of curved Coconino Sandstone complimented by pools of water and healthy green vegetation.
On my way out I spooked a big Ol Bull with a large growing rack of fuzzy antler velvet, it’s amazing how fast these animals shed and grow their antlers back!
Wildflowers ObservationLight Honeysuckle are rocking!
