I hadn't researched this before heading out to the Gorge, so I was disappointed to learn I wouldn't be able to do one of the loop hikes. Everything is closed due to the 2017 Eagle Creek Fire, except the paved trail to the bridge below the falls. In fact, even highway 30 is closed, and the danger from fire-damaged landscape above makes it seem pretty questionable as to exactly when they will reopen any of it.

Nonetheless, it's a pretty cool waterfall and I'm glad I managed to loiter for almost half an hour.

Signs claim it to be the 2nd tallest year-round waterfall in the US. It doesn't say what the tallest one is, and any research on the subject totally contradicts that claim anyway.
