| partners | | LL planned this one months ago, and despite the warmer than normal temperatures, we headed out anyway. Joe had confirmed the bumper crop a week earlier and wow! We picked, and ate, picked and cooked, picked and carried. So many apples!
There were plenty of huge piles of bear scat, but we were disappointed that we didn't see one foraging. Deer on the other hand ... everywhere. And nearly fearless, just chomping away within feet of us.
Water was scarce at the ranch, with just a couple of shallow pools below the orchard. Plenty flowing in the creek south of the ranch as always though. I'm sure all that has changed after the rain over the past couple of days. |
