| no partners | | I haven't had a chance to enjoy any autumn colors yet, and had to be home midafternoon, so made a point of spending a few hours in this area which seems to have a really diverse range of dates for color for different trees in different areas.
Rain threatened in the morning, but some spots of blue came through later on. The elk rifle hunt is open, and while we only spoke to one hunting group, there were at least 8 different stands that appeared to be recently used. Across from one was a canteen hanging from a tree with a liquid drip. Not my area of expertise, but I'm guessing it was elk urine? It had a pungent and unpleasant odor.
Spotted a bear cub and its mom, a big owl, a bunch of elk and what looked to be a large grey fox, but may have been a small coyote. As usual, a good visit here. |

Autumn Foliage Observation Substantial Weird year. Seems way late. Some colors done and dropped. Others still green. Plenty at prime. I feel like some of the greens will skip turning colors and just drop. Who knows. |
