We were in California near San Francisco doing mostly tourist stuff but we decided to check out Mount Tamalpais. You can drive almost to the top so not much of a hike. However, there are multiple trails that come from the bottom so there are lots of loop options that could make for a very nice full day hike. We checked out the summit and the tower on top. Great views of the bay area!
