We had high hopes of enjoying some of the pools in Chevelon Canyon but it just wasn't to be. The forecast called for 60% after Noon but the rain started much earlier about 30 minutes into the hike. Part way down via Larson Ridge the skies opened up and by the time we reached the creek it was still raining pretty good. We waited a bit and even attempted a crossing but the water was running high enough to keep us from crossing. Eventually we decided it wasn't breaking anytime soon so headed back up the ridge to the vehicle. Definitely will be back on a nicer day as the Larson Ridge access was fun way into Chevelon. Just a note we did not access on the official Larson Ridge route. We went in near the point marked 7348 on the topo.
