| no partners | | This is a nice, easy loop from the parking area just after you turn onto First Water Road. I'm recovering from a cold and wasn't planning to hike, but it was just too nice out. I wanted something easy, so I picked the place where I take my mom when she visits. Easy enough and I can add to it if I want. And I did.
I started around noon on the unnamed trail as you leave the wash, heading SW towards a trail referred to in Carlson's Hikers Guide as Silverlock Prospect. This would eventually take me to the fins. From there I followed another unnamed trail to the Praying Hands, dropped down to Dutchman and picked up the Prospectors Trail. Making things up as I went along, I took the Palmer Mine trail over to Siphon Draw, then the bicycle trail back across the park towards The Treasure Loop trail, then to Jacobs Trail and finally back to the wash.
I had a fun time in spite of the cough/sniffles. The mild weather we've been having gave way to low 90's today, but a nice breeze made it delightful. |
