| no partners | | A previously scheduled hike with a friend was postponed so I decided to check out Hog Canyon instead. I started from the Hieroglyphic trailhead because I am considering a future loop going up Hog Ridge to 5057, coming down the balanced rock route.
Soon after starting off trail towards Hog Canyon I decided to head up to a hill northwest of the glyphs, just to see what was up there. I found several rock walls up there, but wasn't sure of their age. No artifacts other than a shot gun shell.
From there I angled back towards the original goal of a cross country route to Hog Canyon. Easy going until I reached the canyon, and pretty much easy going the rest of the way to the glyphs/waterfall. If you like rock hopping in a creek. I do.
I wish I had researched this a little more. The best glyphs were a couple scrambles away. I will make sure to catch them next time around. |
