| no partners | | Started at Blue Point Rec Site following the Salt River below the Blue Point bluffs...
Up the wash a quarter-mile...
Ascend the lower eastern slope of Peak 1871 (incorrectly labeled 1971) until reaching the horse trail...
Descended along the trail southwest back to the Salt River...
Followed along the river until locating a shallow water crossing...
Crossed the Salt River without the water over-topping my ankle-height waterproof boots...
Sought the wild horses grazing in a grassy meadow which I saw earlier from Peak 1871...
Located the horses...
Wandered through the group of five horses, three of which were pretty young...
Filmed the horses...

Headed over to Bush Highway...
Saw a Great Egret in the river while crossing on the bridge...
Took photo of same...
Back to the car...
Nice loop which I was only able to accomplish because the water level had been lowered. |
