| no partners | | Lovely day spent in the wilderness. Perfect weather for the hike. Costumes and company along the way... we were the company not the costumes. We felt the same awkwardness one feels showing up to a cocktail party in workout clothes as most hikers we encountered knew how to dress for this hike. Everyone was in a festive mood and the hike was terrific.
Some water running along the way, leaves changing but other than a couple of lizards, no wildlife seen. Given the recent rains, a mix of a few wildflowers and green grass also present with the changing leaves.
Plenty of cairns and ties to keep us moving to the better foot paths through the canyon. A nice rest at the cabin and then a non-stop return to the trailhead.
