It's reached out of the Sante Fe Ski Basin parking lot via the well used Winsor Trail (#254) and a steep, very rocky access up toward Lake Peak. This last part is very steep class 2, but the 10,250 to 11,400 foot elevation range will be challenging for flatlanders who haven't acclimated. Try to go in the fall when the Aspens are turning color. Simply spectacular. Allow about 5 hours if you include a trip around the lake. |
