| no partners | | | I had the good fortune to again climb Mt. Srd, the hill/mountain to the east of Dubrovnik, Croatia. The views of Dubrovnik from this trail and the top of Mt. Srd are, to use an inadequate word, magnificent. It's not a big climb, and the swithbacks take the sting out of the steepness. One reason that I wanted to post this triplog is to let people know that the gondola from the castle area to the top is no longer in operation. The scuttlebutt is that the owner of the gondola operation refuses to pay taxes imposed by the city, and has taken his millions and left the country. So, you can either drive to top, or make the hike. I recommend the hike since it ranks among the top hikes I've done anywhere. |
