| no partners | | | We thought the misty weather might keep the crowds away. We lived here for over 7 years and should have known better. Parking lot was about 3/4 full when we rolled in around 8:30 and there were cars lining the road in when we left around 12:30. So it's definitely not a hike for solitude as there were plenty of people and dogs on the trail today. No views but the lake wasn't completely shrouded in clouds when we made it up. Trail is in excellent condition -- you can tell there has been a lot of work done recently. Wildflowers are out but berries haven't really made it yet. While it was misting in places there wasn't really any full on rain today and while humid, the temps were not too bad. Cool enough to be a little chilly if you're just sitting by the lake. So while the weather wasn't the best and the crowds were out, a day out on the trail beats pretty much everything else. |
