| no partners | | This hike was from the TH at the Whitney Portal to Lone Pine Lake and back. Actually we went a short distance past Lone Pine Lake to the boundary of the Whitney Zone, beyond which a permit is required.
We did this hike 2 days before hiking up to Mount Whitney -- we wanted to do this hike to acclimate a bit to the altitude and to check out at least a portion of the trail that we would be hiking on up to Whitney.
There were about 3 creek crossings, one of which was a bit of a challenge to keep your feet dry.
Lone Pine Lake was nice -- there was still some snow on one side of the lake. |
