| partners | | A couple of my petroglyph buds invited me along to look for some rumored rock art in the New Water Mountains. I hadn't been there before and doubt it gets many visitors.
We spread out, checking the many basalt boulders and eventually found some petroglyphs. I think we were all surprised by how many there were and several times when we thought "we'd found them all", a little more snooping opened up new areas. Really turned out good....mainly archaic petroglyphs with some indication later people lived there too. The adjacent wash - very dry nowadays - must've been flowing-a-plenty 2000 years ago. Hard to imagine this place was habitable. |
