| no partners | | Our kids got my wife a hot air balloon ride for her birthday and she brought me along. Since it was scheduled to be over by 10AM I figured we could add a Sedona hike and I asked Bruce the Eagle to make a recommendation including his recent "new way" to Cathedral Rock and he sent me a nice track.
The balloon ride was a lot of fun and I include some pictures. The hike was also a lot of fun. Fairly generic from the Yavapai Point Trailhead on to the Hiline Trail. The new connector leaves the Hiline with Cathedral Rock right in front of you. I'm not sure it's official status - somebody had partially blocked it off with branches but it's clearly a good trail that heads right over to Cathedral.
Met up with the popular Cathedral Rock Trail just below the saddle/overlook. Took a quick trip up to join the other tourists looking over the other side then took the steep route back down (first time for me - would be more fun without the crowd). Then the Easy Breezy contoured us back to the car. Nice loop. |
