Started out the new year being sick for what felt like forever. Finally had a day off and felt good again so I wanted to do a nice hike. Hadn't been to Hieroglyphics trail for a while so that's what I decided on. I thought since it was a week day I could avoid the disneyland type crowds it draws on the weekends.
The landscape was as scenic as ever, very green this time of year. I noticed a few minor reroutes around the gate area, can't remember if they were there last time or not. The wilderness sign is missing from its post once you enter the gate. Only passsed a few people on the trail, but there was a large crowd gathered at the pools. Word on the trails was the majority of them were from the Robson Ranch hiking club. When I got back to the parking lot at about 11am it was filling up fast as the middle parking row was starting to form. A great day to be out on the trails.
