| no partners | | My boss is letting me leave after market close the next two days so I chose this quick hike to do. Tomorrow I am hoping to do the Gateway from work as I get to wear my hiking clothes to work. Everyday is casual day until this crisis is over. And when it's over, the boss is gonna have a big party. Meanwhile, its pretty stressful since we're in the financial business. Our clients are hanging in there but it's not easy.
Anyway, it was a non-drama hike this time other than Route Scout acted up again, thus mileage and AEG is not accurate. The Brittlebush is definitely waning but the Barrel Cactus are now starting to bloom and I saw some other intermittent flora including Scorpion Weed and Globe Mallow and a few blooming Ocotillo. I only saw about 9 people on the trail. The breeze was nice as it starts to be warmer in the afternoons.
As I arrived at the parking lot I corraled the ranger and told him I had built up the rock barriers on that one corner of the trail and that perhaps they should consider putting some little signs up in light of so many non-knowledgable hikers. He said they try to use as little signage as possible which I said I realized this but thot maybe during this time and for a short time, these little signs would be advisable if not, at least, for the safety of the hikers as these sections are steep and slippery. Anyway, he has only been on the job for 3 weeks. He said they were discussing trail closure but no decisions had been made at this time. He says it's been quite the indoctrination. |
