Now to do the hike I had planned to do this AM but the rain spooked me off so I did a Lookout Loop with some Stinknet eradication. Checked the forecast and it looked like I would be in the clear after 3. Trailhead was a little emptier than this morning. I geared up with my new headphones and phone charger and hiked counterclockwise; still don't have confidence in trying the loop up the steeper hills on the south. I expected the trail to be busy and it was but maybe not as busy as this morning.

I was lucky that the clouds hid the sun for almost my entire hike up the hill and I was grateful for that. Most people bid adieu during this hike today so that was nice. Some had masks, one complaining it made it hard for her to see. As usual, there were also lots of dogs and children.

Was surprised to see so much Desert Lavender on the way up the trail and down the steep paved hill. Otherwise the usual suspects of brittlebush and some lupine and globe mallow. And yes, lots of stinknet :( . Hit the towers and then went down the steep hill and over to the western towers. Saw no one over here. Made my way over to the south exit hill and that trail is in really rough shape since the last time I hiked it. I could see the SE Valley was getting pummeled by a storm and hoped it would stay there while I made my way back to the TH.

Got in a lot of hiking this week, two hikes I haven't posted yet in the Phx Mtn Preserve and Pinnacle Peak. This is my life when the club is closed. My knees are definitely feeling it. I do work out with free weights at home and do other strength work but not to the level I do it in gym class.

Hope everyone has a Happy Easter🐰, such as it is. Oh, I did see a bunny today, he got off the trail pretty fast too.

For me, sometimes it's just as much about the journey as the destination.
Oh, and once in awhile, don't forget to look back at the trail you've traveled.
