Pickles then shared a couple still shots of the canyon, and i set out to locate the precise location, after a small clue.. so google maps to the rescue! searching around we were able to get a basic triangulation of the view that was taken from one of the dwellings, and i matched it on Maps, then decided what cliff it would be hiding in. we drove the old roads, parked at the top and walked 4 miles while following our desired path using Route Scout.. and lo and behold, after getting below the cliff and then scrambling around the outer flank, i saw the first of the dwellings. yelling back to her "i found them!" was hilarious, as i never heard so much joy and excitement!
spending some time in the great room, having a lunch and then finding some 'glyphs was a great day. not too many know of this one, and we are not privy to disclose, either.
thanks, Pickles.. what a blast! |
