Heard continuous buzzing for a minute or so, which I thought was a cicada. Realized the sound was too low, both in tone and distance from the ground, so I started looking around. Finally found a tiny speckled, which at this point had been buzzing for at least two minutes without pause. Took some video and pics, then continued on my way, while he continued to buzz for at least another minute. New one for me.
Pleasant breeze along National, with a red smoky sunrise, courtesy of the newest fire in the Supes. Headed down Mine, nearly stepping on another speckled near the big mines. He curled up under a branch, while I debated for a moment whether I should pass by him on the trail, or detour offtrail into possibly worse. I chose to dart past him on the trail. Very muggy coming downhill, no breeze. |
