I had originally planned a different hike for today, but decided to let the kids sleep in while I got some work done. Got started around 0900 and headed up the Ruins trail. The kids played at Lost Ranch for a few minutes then we headed uphill. Took a little side trip to the mine along the trail. Once we reached National, it was pretty windy than I’d thought it would be, so the kids layered up with everything I had in my pack. East on National, then down Lost Ranch Mine. The wind died down as soon as we started to descend. Explored around the big mines a little bit, then headed back to the car. Didn’t see many people today. The temps and cloud cover were perfection.
