The Pyramid usual. Warm, but breezy with a few sprinkles. Headlamp until 0550. On the way up, I noticed a tall barrel cactus leaning towards the trail enough to where my shoulder almost brushed into it in the dark. A couple of newly fallen saguaros as well. Nice sunrise, and saw one owl along the top. On the way down, I heard a weird noise and stopped moving because I wasn’t sure what the sound was through my music. Good thing I stopped, because that same barrel cactus fell over right in front of me, missing me by just a foot or so. I’ve had trees fall over next to me, but never a cactus, so that was a first. Chatted with a few people on the way down.
