| partners | | Linda let me join her for a South Mountain loopish hike. Starting half hour before sunrise so no headlamp needed. The plan was to park at San Gabriel and go Desert Classic-Beverly-Javelina-Mormon-National- Hidden Valley- down to start of National- San Gabriel to car. A little warm at the end but it went pretty good. All the power line reroutes on Beverly now say Pima Canyon loop with the one on the northern section called a Beverly connector trail. A little confusing with this one. Like when they rerouted Warrior and put up signs that said T-Bone loop only to change the name again. Not sure everyone is on the same page. The hike went good. It Seemed we moved over for more bikes than normal. One horse up ahead left us a nice present on the trail. I think she should have bagged it for the poop fairy to haul out! Linda pointed out a Coyote on Mormon which didn’t like wasting energy going around us. Really like going down the wash after hidden valley. With little rain I was worried about the big Bursera but it actually looked pretty good. The last climb by the CCC building’s was a little warm but we survived. The San Gabriel reroute has begun. I sweated out a few pounds but it was an enjoyable hike. Always enjoy chitchatting with Linda! Like HAZ she rocks! |
