| partners | | I met Wally at the Hieroglyphics trailhead around 530. Temps weren’t too bad but the humidity was no bueno. We hadn’t been on Turks before. The off trail had a lot less scratchy stuff then when we did the hike to “Wally’s hammer” a couple weeks ago. You could see the hammer from up top too and it looked so small. The climb had pretty good footing but the big rock face might be a little slippery when wet. Wally took us through the secret passage. Go left and the summit is right there. Go right and there is no bottom. Great views! We did see a little smoke that looked to be on the northeast side of the ridgeline. On the way back Wally pointed out lots of other stuff we could check out at another time. One hill before we finished we saw a guy with a thirsty dog and tossed him a bottle of cold water. Another nice hike in the Supes and NO bloodshed . Thanks Wally, like Haz, you rock! |
