Kids did fine, even through the steep, loose part just below the saddle. Short break at the saddle, then time for the scramble up the rocks. One kid was a little scared, but didn’t have any problems. We ended up a little to the right of the best track, so there was a short steep section to get back on course. The kids liked the walk along the rim to the top, although I kept them further away from the edge.
Nice break at the top, then we headed back down, staying on the best path through the steep parts and scramble. Saw two other hikers below the saddle, but nobody else for the day. Lots of bighorn evidence, but no sightings. Fun day, and the kids liked the mountain. |
