| no partners | | came up with this idea as I neared the top of Ridgeback that I would do a double. Yep, I was feeling pretty good after that first ascent. I went back down to the junction with the Ocotillo and turned around and headed back up. After finishing the second summit I headed down the north and west side on the Ridgeback Trail to Sidewinder. It was a SUPERB morning with the lovely breeze; so much so, I decided to double Apache Vista.
The first ascent went well altho I could feel myself slowing a tad. I went back down to the junction with Sidewinder and then back up again. I was glad to be on top and came around a corner when a big breeze hit me in the face; it felt so good. And back to the TH I went still enjoying the great temperature.
I saw three lizards, about 4 bike riders and maybe twenty or so hikers. I've never done a double like this but it's easy as doubles go since they are fairly short; unlike doing a double of say a Shaw Butte or something. Altho I'm thinking North Mountain might be worth a try. |

For me, sometimes it's just as much about the journey as the destination.
Oh, and once in awhile, don't forget to look back at the trail you've traveled. |
