| no partners | | I really only chose this trail so as to visit the owls again. Not much action with the owls, so I continued up the trail and went clockwise. No breeze for most of the hike and the lizards didn't really come out until the last 1/2 of the hike. I ran into a little over a dozen hikers and a few bike riders, most replied back to my "good morning". Stopped to get some more owl photos on the way back down to the TH. And per usual, some long lens cameras were being held by others trying to get photos.
WATCH: 4.73 miles 133 avg bpm 134 max. Those figures don't seem right. 100% in Zone 4 Anaerobic (find it hard to believe I stayed in the same zone for the whole hike) burning 558 calories. Temp at start 62.5 and 24% humidity finishing at 9:15AM. Temp seemed warmer than that.
Yesterday I got an additional permit for my Glacier trip so instead of hiking straight down from Sperry Chalet we will backpack down for a two-nite stay at Gunsight Lake campsite (and maybe a side trip to Jackson Glacier). While at Sperry we are participating in the guided trip to Sperry Glacier. Anyway, that's pretty good to go two for two on lottery permits. So we'll have a long trek at Glacier from Aug 5 thru the 16th. |

For me, sometimes it's just as much about the journey as the destination.
Oh, and once in awhile, don't forget to look back at the trail you've traveled. |
