wanted to get in a little practice hike before my hike with Kelly tomorrow. The parking lot was full at 8:45 and the hike would reflect that with many humans and dogs of all sizes on the trail throughout. There were several photographers with their giant lenses to shoot the owl nest; not sure why those were necessary as I did pretty good with my 30x zoom as I usually do. I stopped to snap a few pictures and heard there were three babies altho I could only see one. It was pretty big though.

I continued on my way UP the last of this hill before continuing counterclockwise on the trail. I heard a loud singing bird but couldn't see it until two other hikers came along and spotted it up higher in the tree. The temp was already warm for me so I guess it's time to switch the sleep schedule following the "early to bed, early to rise" mantra. I'll have to start slowly working on that. I made my way around stepping aside for others and some bikers. I saw a few blooming hedgehogs and by a few, I mean three.

Thot I might have trouble with the last hill because of the warming temp but I did just fine. I stopped by and took a few more snaps of the owl and baby. Still couldn't see all of the little ones. As I finished off the trail there were still others coming up including photographers.

WATCH: 4.74 miles, 131 avg bpm 159 max. 23% Zone 5, 41% Zone 4, 36% Zone 3 burning 664 calories. Temp at start 56.7 and 28% humidity, finish 75 degrees.

For me, sometimes it's just as much about the journey as the destination.
Oh, and once in awhile, don't forget to look back at the trail you've traveled.
