We made our way down to the water fairly easily without too much trouble route finding. Once we reached the creek, we inflated floaties and oh were those swims so glorious!
There was the typical rock hop with floaties, swim and repeat until we reached our destination. It is such a stunner there with all the beautiful geology. This is the first canyon I’ve been in that wasn’t as hard as I recalled. It had been a couple of years since I’d been there, so I was happy to have some hope that maybe I finally am slightly improving at non technical canyoneering
We had the entire place to ourselves and took a LONG break swimming, floating and enjoying delicious beverages. It was glorious! I’d never been above the main waterfall and the flow was much more manageable with the water levels lower, so with some teamwork we were able to get the whole group up top to see more of the canyon. It was so beautiful up there and I’d love to see more of it!
The rocks were brutally hot to the touch on the way out and the temps climbed to 106 for our exit. We were all pretty psyched to be back at the vehicles when finished. Such an amazing girls day at the creek! |
