The stats on this one didn’t seem too difficult, so we were all excited for something a bit easier in terms of AEG and navigation. We’d already done a lot over the past couple of days so my energy was low.
This one was way more stunning in person than the pics we saw online so that was a treat! The trail crosses some cute bridges and mostly follows along the creek the whole way around. We turned off the trail at various spots to get better creekside views and it was gushing in a few areas! I particularly enjoyed the sections of rapids with the views of mountains in the background.
It was a lot of up and down throughout the hike and it ended up with a longer, steep stretch to complete the loop. Definitely a beautiful hike and one I’d recommend checking out; it wasn’t even very busy for a Sunday afternoon! Post hike, we headed back to camp and enjoyed a much deserved beverage after a long day of adventure. I’d call it a successful first trip to Colorado for sure! |
