Didn't really enjoy it that much although it did have a couple of nice views, but the other hikes in the area have the same views and are more pleasant to hike. We also didn't hike all the way down into the canyon and into the creek.
Rather than going down into the valley to go to the creek, at the 2.5 mile point we just continued to the end of the road and extra 500 ft for the scenic view (photo taken). We actually did go down about 1/2 way down the steep road to the river bed, but decided to turn back since the road was so steep, and there really didn't seem to be anything more to see.
Can't say I would recommend this hike, go do Mount Peeley Summit or Cornucopia - Thicket Spring Loop instead. Although the drive to this trailhead is scary the hikes are much more enjoyable. |
