| partners | | Neighbor Brian, (Sun_Ray) just came back from his Hawaii trip and asked me to do a hike in our neighborhood. Angela, (tibber) had been wanting to come up to visit Cathy since she's back home from the hospital so we made it a threesome.
The Tibbenator and I met Brian at the Surrey Hills TH parking for an early start. Chilly but it warmed up quickly. After a short climb up to the saddle we dropped down into th P.A. Seitts Preserve and climbed up the Louis Menk trail to the overlook. Always a nice view of Spur Cross and Skull Mesa from there. Brian had not seen the old Cave Creek Cemetery so after the trip down we went north for a quick visit.
We returned doing a CCW loop using a newish trail put in as a partnership between the Town of Cave Creek and the Desert Foothills Mountain Bike Association. This trail must have a name but I've been unable to come up with it. It is marked by metal posts with a C C welded on with horseshoes. [ photo ]
After the hike Angela came back to the house for a light breakfast and her visit with Cathy. The three of us had not hiked together since our trip out to the 6L Ranch in March of 2020. It was nice to see you guys again and catch up on things in person. Let's not wait so long next time! |
