Angela went out yesterday on these trails to look for owls and owlettes with the the gecko, (Kelly). When she mentioned she was going to return today I took the liberty of inviting myself along. We met at the Apache Wash TH @ 8am and headed on out.

The first nest we came to had a mama owl but no young'uns. On the return route we saw she did indeed have at least one baby but was keeping it on the down-lo. :)

The second nest had a mama sitting on either eggs or hatchlings...we couldn't tell for sure but she was sitting all fluffed up with a purpose. Angela called her fat. :o Talk about "mean girls". :lol:

We ran into an interesting variant of a Christmas Cholla that has yet to be identified. Neither of us had encountered it before. :-k

Fun little hike in wonderful weather and with great company. Thanks for letting me tag along Angela!
