5:45 start with a climb up to the Surrey Hills saddle. Instead of our usual backtrack over to Black Mountain we instead dropped down the west side of the saddle into the P.A. Seitts Preserve. It's about a 250' elevation drop in a quarter mile which makes for a huffer on the way back out.
Saw three Jackrabbits as the sun was coming up. Got a picture of one of them but not enough light for great focus. We climbed up to the "Overlook Hill" on the Louis Menk Trail to take in the sunrise and the vistas. More info in the photo captions. |
