| partners | | I had read about this hike in a couple of places and when I learned the new trail had been completed I got together with a long time hiking partner to do it and provide a guide and track for HikeAZ. We both enjoyed this hike. The trail was an easy to follow dirt track except the very end where you follow the old trail/road which is badly eroded in places. The grades were gentle thanks to the numerous switchbacks but they did lengthen the distance from what it had been using the dirt road. Because I wasn't constantly watching where i put my feet I could enjoy the views especially about 3.5 miles in.
Russian Well itself was interesting, a part of Arizona mining history.
