We had plans of a second summit at the Grand Canyon on Presidents Day, but the wind and cold had other ideas, so we opted for a long overdue visit to the Wupatki National Monument.

This place exceeded my expectations. The ruins were impressive and the backdrops spectacular with the Peaks in the background and the general beauty of the area. I think if I had to pick a couple, the most enjoyable stops for me were Lomaki, Box Canyon, and the Wukoki pueblos. The drive was also very scenic and I would recommend the full loop to see the lava flows. All of the ruins are easily accessed with minimal walking and developed trails.
