We visited this area and the falls on New Years Eve, but the inclement weather put a bit of a damper on the overall experience. This time around the weather was perfect and as I had hoped, the falls were still flowing nicely.

It was a chilly 8:00 a.m, start at the TH, but I warmed quickly as we ascended the trail. The trail is getting a little overgrown towards the top, but I feel like I have been saying that for years now. The falls were flowing nicely, but maybe a little lighter flow since our last visit. After a quick break and pic session, we headed up trail, but did not get very far before hitting a patch of icy, snow covered trail that was a tad slick to walk on, so we turned around. We returned the way we came. I did not see anyone all day until the last half mile to the trailhead, when we passed two hikers just starting off.
