| no partners | | We thought we might get lucky and find a pocket of dry weather to check out the falls, but it drizzled for most of the hike. Nevertheless, we still enjoyed the semi aquatic sludge up the hill and to the falls.
The drive in to the trailhead had some attention getting stretches of mud and the deepest crossing is not far alway from being impassable. We started to a light mist and generally ok conditions. We got more wet from branches and trees during the first few miles than we did from rain. The last mile or so to the falls was in the snow, which led to some cold toes by the time we reached them, so it was a quick visit. It was not sprinkling at the falls, but it was pretty chilly not moving and we wanted to make sure we got out before we were trapped there for the night due to high water and mud on the road.
The drive out was a little dicey. The road got exponentially muddier and we nearly did not get both 4Runners out, but good prevailed and we made it. Happy New Years HAZ peeps. |
