| no partners | | I figured that I would defy the odds and make my 28th ascent of Humphreys Peak today, on Friday the 13th.
It was a nice day for the hike -- warm temperatures and it was not nearly as windy as it has been lately.
I was the first person on the summit today -- that is a first for me.
There is a bit of snow in spots on the trail, mainly between about 10,500 feet and 11,200 feet.
I put microspikes on at about the 3 mile mark on the ascent, and kept them on up to Agassiz Saddle. As it turned out, I should have taken them off much sooner. I did not use microspikes on the descent, but I had to slow down a number of times on some snowy spots on the trail.
It was a nice day to be on the top of Arizona! |

Wildflowers Observation None It is too early for wildflowers on this hike. |
