| no partners | | I decided to head up and do this hike today -- normally at this time of year I'd hike from the Inner Basin, but with the fire closure that is not an option at the present time.
I don't like this trail at all, especially from the TH to Agassiz Saddle -- and it is worse going down than up.
It was a nice day for the hike though, with no chance of rain in the forecast.
I was able to get a long distance view of some of the fire damage from the Tunnel Fire. It didn't look as bad as I thought that it might be. Sugarloaf Mountain looked particularly hard hit from the fire, and it looked like the campground didn't fare too well. Doyle Peak looked pretty good on the north side, but I could see that the fire burned it on the west side and on top.
This was my 30th ascent of Humphreys, but I don't plan to do it again this year unless the Inner Basin and Weatherford Trails open up before cold weather comes. |

Wildflowers Observation Light There was a fair amount of yellow columbine along the way. |
