| no partners | | I drove a bus full of river trip passengers to Lees Ferry, then parked the bus and hiked part of the Spencer Trail. I didn't hike the whole thing because I didn't have time. I had permission to leave the bus and do the hike, but I am a bit slow these days, take more breaks, and I didn't have time to complete the hike and also get the bus back to Flagstaff at the time I promised my boss. When I got back he said it doesn't really matter, as long as the bus is not needed. So, that's good to know.
The lower half of the trail has been reworked a great deal, with lots of stone steps, wider tread, etc. The upper part is more like what the whole trail used to be--a bit rough, but very hikeable. I hadn't hiked it since 2016.
I could see the boats from my company (AzRA) launch and go downriver. |
