| no partners | | Some short sorties off the road. Mostly driving, some hiking. Took first the high road and think I know where it finishes, the back of someone's property. Great views, some white knuckle stuff, and interesting early morning lighting for photos.
Next drove a road with the weeds so high couldn't see the track in spots. Visited Teddy in his shrine and he has a new friend. The gated mine tunnel really flooded, very cold water. Have a name maybe I can wheedle the key to the lock.
Next checked in on the 10th Cav grave area. I found a large potshard there about 8-9 years ago; hid it. Went to try to find it several years ago and concluded someone had taken it. Found it today, cleaned it up, photo and back in the hiding spot. My unsubstantiated guess with the amount of pottery remains and worked chert that perhaps the rocks covering the graves came from some crumbling old structures in the area.
Drive out, some water still in places in pools. One area had a recent flooding it seemed from a sidecanyon, amazing mud, silt and grass all mowed down. No tracks on the other side where a road goes.
Seemed to have occurred recently; probably a localized downpour from tropical storm Javier.
Green, weeds going to seed, drying out in places that were running last weekend. So it goes. |
