The creek was running and water was over the road in several areas on the drive in, but we were able to reach our chosen trailhead despite the condition of the road. We had many creek crossings before reaching our point to ascend to the arch and the peak. It's a difficult climb up and down because of the rocky landscape, particularly the rocks rolling under your feet on the way down. Every time I cross Gonzales Pass on the way to Superior I try to see the arch on Fraser mountain and it's rewarding to have seen it close up. |
