We did this hike last year and had decided to give it another 'go'. We start from First Water Road at the Jacob's Crosscut parking area. We take the long walk to the Waterfall Canyon, then up across patches of ice to reach the top of the 'waterfall'(no water coming down) before climbing the steep hill to the next ridgeline. From there we worked our way to find the board and drop down to it. We saw a huge bighorn sheep bull when we did the climb a year ago, but no wildlife on this trek. For me it was an exhausting day, though born in 1944, I wasn't the elder hiker on this challenge.
