| no partners | | | Did this hike with Mike B on a cool cloudy day, high of 69. This was Mike B's first real summit in many years. He made it to Casa Grande 2 , elevation 2332 feet and didn't want to go any further. I summited the high point, which was another 0.7 miles out, before it got dark and got some nice pics of the American flag at the peak. There were some nice views of the highway system (I-10 & I-8) below. It's paved all the way to the trailhead and the road will get you to the radio towers. From the towers there is a very good trail leading up to the high point. We saw a couple with a 140 pound St. Bernard coming down the trail about 1/4 from the towers. This dog was really friendly and great to see out hiking. |
