Decided to take the dog to the waterfall on Barnhardt today. Got started around 1000 and it was already hot at 78 degrees. Headed uphill, taking several breaks in the shade. Spent a few minutes at the falls and soaked the dog in the icy cold water so she’d be less miserable on the way back down. Poured more water on her at two more water crossings during the descent. She still hates me though, anything above 80 degrees and she’s not happy. Unfortunately, it was 85 by the time we finished. Trail is in decent shape for the portion we were on. Saw quite a few other hikers, more than I was expecting to see on a weekday.
