| no partners | | Started at 0445. Headed up what used to be Pyramid, but has now been redesignated Gila. That’ll be weird to get used to. Some of the lower signage has been changed, but most of the higher signage hasn’t been updated yet. Crossed paths with @johnlp and chatted for a moment, always good to see him.
West on National with a stop on Goat Hill, then down Lost Mine. Lots of people for the final mile back to the trailhead. Making the loop this direction this early gives either plenty of shade or hiking with my back to the sun. Nice breeze along the upper part of Gila and all along National.
A few weeks ago, I started (mostly) following some nutrition and electrolyte advice from a book I recently read. Just following the electrolyte suggestions has consistently lowered my heart rate during any activity by 5-10 bpm without reducing the intensity of the exercise. Nice to see the positive results from the book. |
