Wandered up Barnhardt a ways after abandoning the Y Bar trail due to smoke. Seemed like less smoke in the canyon compared to Y Bar trail. Checked out Garden Spring and met a large Javelina until we decided to go our separate ways. I would like to know the history around the spring but it probably is lost to time. The area had received some rains over the summer but not enough to fill Barnhardt Creek as it normally should be this time of year but there is still light flow in spots.
