| partners | | our last hike of the trip would be right from cottonwood campground
got going around 0830 and took the campground spur to cottonwood springs
explored around there for awhile, then took the loop trail to mastadon peak
nice little scramble to the summit, where we took a break, again for views and cell service
too hazy for the salton sea today
checked out the mine then finished out the loop
lots of wildflowers, and i enjoyed the rest of the loop much more than last time
this is a great little hike, one of just a few in the southern part of the park
packed up camp and headed for our next stop: the salton sea |
